Union of Paths

“The tradition of pilgrimage is as old as religion itself. … The tradition of pilgrimage is being revitalized during our own times to seek answers to our longings. “Pilgrims are people in motion, passing through territories not their own—seeking something we might call completion, or perhaps the word clarity will do as well, a goal to which only the spirit’s compass points the way.” The pilgrim seeks to follow the spirit’s compass, which guides us to find an inner openness to the outer world of people, places, and events that become the fabric of our lives.”

Walking a Sacred Path, pp 31, 33

Reading this I recognize the convergence of two paths into one. My Shamanic journey is growing with great momentum, calling and guiding me deeply. It is the path of Artist, Storyteller, Healer, Ceremonialist, Warrior, Leader and Teacher-Student. Encompassing that, the Threefold Mystical Path, or simply put, the Threefold path revealing a holistic view. It is the path of Purgation, Illumination and Union. I see how my shamanic path is helping me to traverse each way of the threefold path, individually at times while unified at others.

journeying to other worlds
to other dimensions
shedding skins like a great serpent
recovering lost fragments that need presence here and now
with healing tears and a warriors cry
with allies of many kind
graceful in flow
from circle to circle
dancing in ceremony
leading by following the inner compass
teaching while learning
illuminating within and without
with shadows the same
unity with all
a story woven as life

A pilgrim am I, on a journey I am. A pilgrim and his journey, I am that.

Much to behold.

The drum calls.
