From Chaos the Dance

You need chaos in your soul to give birth to a dancing star,

-Nietzsche

This quote was discovered while reading Walking a Sacred Path, Rediscovering the Labyrinth as a Spiritual Practice by Lauren Artress.

The timing and finding of this book is apropos.

Having just gobbled up The Cosmic Serpent, DNA and the Origins of Knowledge I was left both enthralled and bemused, entertaining rationalism of the scientific method with the mystery of the mystically profound. Beholding concepts of the sacred and concepts of the nothing (Nihilism) almost simultaneously.

And so, seemingly just the dash of direction I can use, this book about the Labyrinth as a tool for wayfinding.

For that, I am grateful.

follow up: the above quote appears to either be a translation or paraphrase of this source from Nietzsche’s Thus spoke Zarathustra, “I say unto you: one must still have chaos in oneself to be able to give birth to a dancing star. I say unto you: you still have chaos in yourselves…”
